Travel Review: Anping Old Street

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Anping Old Street, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. As someone who loves history and culture, I was immediately drawn to this charming street that has so much to offer.

Walking down the street, I was struck by the beautiful traditional architecture that has been so well-preserved. The buildings were a mix of different styles, including Chinese and Dutch, and each one had its own unique character. It was like stepping back in time to a bygone era.

One of the highlights of my visit was the Anping Tree House. This building was unlike anything I had ever seen before, with banyan trees growing through the walls and ceilings. The combination of nature and architecture was truly breathtaking, and it was a photographer’s dream come true. The interior of the building was just as impressive, with beautiful details and intricate woodwork.

Another must-see attraction on Anping Old Street is the Anping Fort. This fort was built by the Dutch in the 17th century and was the first European-style fort in Taiwan. The fort is now a museum, and visitors can explore the ruins and learn about its fascinating history. The views from the top of the fort are also incredible, with sweeping vistas of the surrounding area.

Of course, no visit to Anping Old Street would be complete without trying the local food. There were so many delicious options to choose from, including shrimp rolls, oyster omelets, and beef soup noodles. I was particularly impressed with the shrimp rolls, which were crispy and flavorful, and the oyster omelet, which was the perfect balance of sweet and savory.

I also enjoyed exploring the souvenir shops on Anping Old Street. There were so many unique and handmade gifts to choose from, including pottery, calligraphy, and jewelry. I ended up buying a beautiful piece of pottery to take home as a souvenir of my trip.

Overall, my visit to Anping Old Street was one of the highlights of my trip to Taiwan. The street is a treasure trove of history and culture, and it was a joy to explore its many offerings. I highly recommend a visit to anyone who is interested in experiencing the rich history and unique culture of Taiwan.

Overall, Anping Old Street is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Tainan. Whether you’re interested in history, food, shopping, or just soaking up the local culture, the street has something to offer everyone. With its charming atmosphere and fascinating history, Anping Old Street is a true gem of Taiwan and should not be missed.
